INFRARED THERAPY BENEFITS

  • Chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated and the nervous system locked in a state of vigilance. Over time, this affects sleep, pain sensitivity, digestion and hormonal signalling.

Infrared heat increases circulation and supports parasympathetic activation — the branch of the nervous system responsible for rest, repair and recovery. As blood flow improves and heat receptors are stimulated, the body receives a clear signal that it is safe to stand down.

When this shift happens, muscle tone softens, breathing naturally slows, and stress chemistry begins to settle. The body moves out of survival mode and back towards regulation.

This is why many people feel noticeably calmer after a single session.

  • Hormonal symptoms don’t appear in isolation. They’re shaped by stress load, sleep quality, inflammation and nervous system tone.

When the body is under constant pressure, cortisol stays elevated. That disrupts the wider hormonal system — affecting sleep, mood, energy, temperature regulation and focus. This is why so many women feel “out of sync”, especially during peri-menopause and menopause.

Infrared therapy supports hormonal balance by lowering that background stress load.

Heat and light calm the nervous system, improve circulation and support deeper rest. As cortisol settles, other hormones are better able to regulate. Nothing is forced. The system is given space to stabilise.

Many women notice, with regular sessions:

    • deeper, more consistent sleep

    • fewer energy crashes and temperature swings

    • steadier mood and emotional resilience

    • improved focus and motivation

    • a greater sense of ease in their body

  • Inflammation is rarely just about injury. It’s influenced by circulation, stress hormones, immune load and how much tissue has been held under tension over time.

Infrared heat penetrates deeper than surface warmth, raising tissue temperature in muscles, joints and connective tissue. This drives circulation, improves oxygen and nutrient delivery, and supports the clearance of inflammatory by-products that contribute to pain and stiffness.

With regular use, infrared can support people managing:

    • fibromyalgia

    • osteoarthritis

    • chronic neck and back pain

    • degenerative disc stiffness

    • widespread muscular tension

Because it works system-wide rather than locally, infrared is used both for recovery and for longer-term pain support.

  • Infrared works on the things that usually block deep sleep – a wired nervous system, stress chemistry, pain and temperature that never quite settles.

Heat exposure followed by gradual cooling helps anchor the body’s circadian rhythm — a key driver of sleep timing and depth.

Infrared therapy supports this process by lowering stress hormones and calming the nervous system before rest. As the body shifts out of alert mode, it becomes easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

With regular sessions, many clients notice:

    • falling asleep more easily

    • deeper, less fragmented sleep

    • fewer night wakings

    • waking up feeling genuinely restored

Sleep improvement is often one of the earliest and clearest signs that the body is responding to infrared support.

  • A mild rise in core temperature — like the one induced during infrared therapy — mimics the body’s natural fever response.

This temporary heat exposure can stimulate immune function, increase white blood cell activity, and support the body’s defence and repair systems. Paired with improved circulation and lowered stress hormones, infrared helps the body shift into a state where recovery is more possible.

Many people turn to infrared during times of:

    • frequent illness or recurring infections

    • post-viral fatigue or low-grade inflammation

    • chronic stress and burnout

Not as a cure but as part of a strategy to strengthen the system from within.

  • The lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump. It depends on circulation, muscle movement and heat to keep fluid moving.

Infrared therapy gently raises core temperature and increases blood flow, encouraging lymphatic movement and deep sweating. This supports fluid balance and helps reduce the sense of congestion that can build up with inflammation, illness or prolonged stress.

Many clients use infrared to support:

    • swelling and puffiness

    • heavy or achy limbs

    • post-illness or post-surgery congestion

    • inflammatory bloating and fluid retention

As circulation and lymphatic flow improve, people often describe feeling physically lighter, less tight, and more mobile.

  • Increased circulation improves oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin.

    Over time, this can support:

    • improved tone

    • softness

    • elasticity

    • post-session glow

These changes reflect systemic support, not surface treatment.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

  • Had the best 30 minutes here, Siobhan was so lovely and welcoming. The most chilled and calm I have felt in a long time. Could feel my body relaxing instantly and some aches and pains leaving. Will definitely be back for more sessions

  • I honestly cannot believe how much just one session, has helped me. Its a lovely treatment. Just lie in the infrared sauna for 30 minutes and boom! Im like a new woman! Its helped not only with the pain in my joints, but its returned a full range of motion too! I dont know how long it will last, but this is absolutely beneficial. I also feel super energised afterwards, not sure if thats the treatment, or the dopamine rush from the results, either way I'd highly recommend this to anyone suffering with chronic pain and mobility issues.

  • Was excited to try this after researching the benefits and not being a fan of a traditional sauna. Siobhan is lovely and very knowledgeable, explaining everything clearly. The infra red experience was so relaxing. Im suffering badly with body aches and muscle pain due to perimenopause and nothing helps. I could feel the heat penetrating into my achy hip and sore back and it was the most relaxing 30 minutes I've had in a long time. The rest of the day I felt like a new woman and the pain was much reduced, I even slept better that night! Looking forward to booking again soon.

  • Absolutely delighted that the results I experienced the first time were not a fluke, pain free in my shoulder yet again, it lasted 4 days after my first treatment. And even after that the pain and range of motion was greatly improved. Looking forward to feeling the benefits this time around x

  • This was fantastic I really enjoyed it. Can feel the benefit of it today. I had a really sore neck & back, my back has eased off a bit & not as sore today. Definitely recommend this.

  • I can't even begin to explain, I've been in agony for weeks with Costochondritis (inflammation if the chest wall and ribs). My first appointment was 30 minutes and I have been able to bend over immediately with out feeling like I have extra pressure on my chest..not to mention the tranquility of the environment and the knowledge and helpfulness of Siobhan. I booked a block so will definitely be back. Thank you so much

  • Had just finished a training session in the gym and was able to get 30 minutes sauna, where Siobhan was there to assist. This was my first time using the infra red and it was excellent. Am 6ft 3 with a fairly large shoulder width and fitted comfortably inside, with enough space to not feel uncomfortable. I will definitely be using this on a regular basis for my training recovery and overall health going forward and would recommend anyone who has not tried infra red sauna, to give it a go.

  • I tried the infrared sauna today. I’ve been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and since my treatment at the Beatson causes joint pain, I thought I’d give this a go. After just 30 minutes, I felt surprisingly good — relaxed, calm, and less sore, even though I had treatment only yesterday. I’ve never liked saunas because I can’t stand heat on my face — but what I loved about this was that your head stays out, so you can breathe fresh air without feeling overheated. It made such a difference.

  • I tried my first infrared sauna session today to help with fibromyalgia pain. I was surprised how gentle the heat felt, but it really sank deep into my muscles. By the end, I felt noticeably less stiff and more relaxed. It didn’t cure the pain, but it definitely eased it — a promising start. I’m hopeful with regular use it could become a helpful part of my pain management.

  • As soon as you walk in the place is so calming & smells amazing! I have had two sessions now, I’m trying this to help with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pains. You can really feel the heat deep inside the joints and while lying there I was actually pain free which never happens. The second session I could barely feel my hip and back pain afterwards for that evening. I’ve now booked a set of sessions. Siobhan is lovely and welcoming and very knowledgeable.

  • As always love my appointments here. So much so I’ve got a membership now. So relaxing and definitely think it’s doing good in my body. Get yourselves booked in and try it

  • A good first experience with infra red sauna. Very relaxing session. Gentle heat and restful session. Lovely surroundings.

  • Another great relaxing session to reduce swelling after long haul flights.

  • Sessions are wonderfully relaxing, in a lovely calm and comfortable environment. Siobhan is very welcoming and knowledgeable, and is very happy to take time to explain things. These sessions are great stress relievers, and I heartily recommend you to try them - you will not regret it.

  • always such a lovely experience!! such a great way to unwind from the week, best of the best

  • Fantastic loved the experience my body felt amazing after the treatments.. definitely will be back xx

  • I find it difficult to relax in general, and didn’t really have an idea of what to expect. But I feel so chilled and my body feels like it’s been looked after. I will be trying to do this once a month at least, I can’t recommend it enough. And Siobhan was so warm and welcoming, thank you!

  • First time trying the infrared sauna yesterday & felt totally relaxed and helped subside bloating and pain within my body. Something that doesn’t take much time out of a busy schedule but has such a good/big impact on your body. Siobhan was also so lovely and has such a great knowledge on the benefits of it. Can’t wait for my next session!
